Fallout 3 has the advantage when it comes to world design. The Mojave in Fallout: New Vegas is boring to explore for the most part, and the city of New Vegas is also disappointing. In contrast, the setting of Fallout 3 features varied terrain with lots of landmarks to explore. In New Vegas, the entire world is the main story. All the interrelations between all the factions and the struggle for Hoover Dam is the story. New Vegas does not really have a traditional main quest in that sense. It's all connected, it all blends together. Without the Mojave Wasteland, there is no main quest. Fallout 3 is a bit different. Fallout 3 is almost entirely detached story wise from Fallout 1 and 2. Both exist within the Fallout world. Fallout New Vegas is set over in the area in and surrounding Las Vegas, where Fallout 3 is set in Washington D.C.. It is generally agreed that New Vegas has the better story and writing. Though people do enjoy playing Fallout 3. It's honestly my biggest criticism with New Vegas. Fallout 4 has better combat, a better open world, and better weapon and character customization (cosmetically) than New Vegas. F4 combat has a smoother manual aim, if you like play Fallout more like a shooter, but FNV one is much deeper and has more mechanics. Fallout 3 is the only game in the franchise with most random encounters and your play trough will always be unique and interesting. It also has a lot of memorable and iconic side quests. Fallout New Vegas greatly improves over Fallout 3; it has far superior gunplay mechanics, new systems and a really good story. New Vegas: I love Fallout. I have played all of them, and enjoyed all of them. But the hype New Vegas gets is so undeserving. Yes, its main quest is better than 4s and 76s but it falls short in so many other aspects and the hype it gets is completely uncalled for. The main quest boils down to: Go speak to main faction A In my opinion fallout 3 is equally as good quality and the dungeons are completely fun. new Vegas just has about 3x the gameplay and about 300 more weapons than fallout 3s like 60 different weapons. It’s kind of like a demo of new Vegas or like if new Vegas had arcade mode that was just traditional straight forward rpg and not some massive I would go so far as to say that Fallout 4 only does four things better than New Vegas. Those being moment-to-moment gunplay, power armor, exploration/random encounters, and graphics. 25. Other_Log_1996 • 2 days ago. I would also argue that it gives many more and much more distinct options in character building. Z2HT.
